The Role:

The successful candidate will support the Environmental and Safety Management Systems at Almac by performing efficient and accurate environmental monitoring as guided by current legislation and site-specific requirements. As part of this role, you will coordinate the daily activities within a waste management compound, including the receiving and logging of hazardous waste, and the general upkeep and housekeeping of the area. You will monitor and trend daily water consumption and effluent production in Almac Sciences, perform waste and storm water analysis, perform weekly fire alarm tests, and assist with waste management activities, including the preparation of hazardous waste shipments.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have GCSE (or equivalent) passes in English Language and Mathematics, as well as previous experience within an industrial environment. He/She will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages (to include Word and Excel), and will have an excellent ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work carried out. Although not essential, GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics, as well as previous experience within industrial waste management would be advantageous. A forklift truck licence and experience in the operation of a forklift truck would be desirable for this role.

Additional:

Internal candidates must have at least 6 months service in their current role if applying for vacancies within their division and at least 12 months service if applying for vacancies in other divisions.
