The Role:

The successful candidate will be the primary contact for customers in relation to all distribution matters. He/She will ensure that agreed timelines are met and queries resolved to the satisfaction of the customer. This will involve prioritising shipping orders, liaising with couriers and generating high-level work instructions in accordance with customer requirements for use within the distribution process. This role will also require occasional travel for the purpose of attending external customer visits as a representative of the distribution team.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess either a third level qualification (preferably in a Science, Engineering or Business Management related discipline) or previous experience within a clinical logistics environment. He/She will also possess previous experience within a customer facing role, experience within a computerised order processing environment and demonstrate responsibility for the prioritisation and allocation of work in accordance with customer requirements. In addition, he/she will demonstrate the ability to compile narrative reports of exceptional standard (in terms of both content and format), previous experience in the identification and creation of work instructions in accordance with customer requirements, excellent computer skills including practical experience in the use of MS Office packages and excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers at all levels. High attention to detail, the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and on own initiative, proven time management skills, proven problem solving ability, the ability to adapt quickly to change in process and procedure and the willingness to accept responsibility are also essential attributes for this role. Whilst not essential, a qualification or previous training within a logistics/transport related discipline, knowledge of GMP, GDP or Quality Systems, previous experience in the generation of export and import documentation, previous experience in liaising with couriers and carriers, knowledge of shipping Dangerous Goods and/or controlled drugs and the ability to demonstrate initiative towards improving procedures within the boundaries of GMP and SOPs are highly desirable.
